Today is the first day of “Annihilate the Candida”. I’ve made my breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner plans. I found the old bottle of disgusting stevia I bought the last time I was on this war path and I gave away my precious bottle of hazelnut creamer. I’m ready! <Sneer>
Am I? (she says with a noticeable whine) No sugar, no bread, no dairy, no fruit, no rice, no potatoes. What else is there? Meat. My husband would be thrilled. Me, on the other hand, not so much. Meat is just the thing that you combine with other food on your fork. You don’t want just a mouthful of meat! Ew. Well, ok there are exceptions, like the filet mignon we had this weekend at the Oregon Garden Resort. I would eat that breakfast, lunch, dinner. But generally, meat is to be enjoyed with rice, potatoes, or stir fried veggies. Or a nice warm homemade roll. Mmmmm. I haven’t even started and I’m a mess.
I’ve already warned the kids. Me and no sugar… not a great combination. Crank up the crankiness because I’m not a happy warrior without my sugar.
So, here’s my plan for today:
Breakfast: Fry 3 eggs in coconut oil (I’m not sure if I can do butter) and a cup of tea (Good Earth Original)
Snack: Handful of Crispy Walnuts (made in the dehydrator) and some raw carrots
Lunch: Tuna salad tossed into some lettuce greens
Snack: celery dipped into hummus, more tea
Dinner: Taco Soup (minus the corn) and salad (if I can figure out a dressing that’s okay)
Snack: celery filled with almond butter
I realize there are lots of snacks. My naturopath mentioned I will be very hungry at the start. So, I figure as any soldier, in order to combat the whiny, rebellious monster inside me, I must be prepared to over feed a bit.
I’m heading to the grocery store this morning, after walking with A. So, I’ll be picking up more rations. And then my plan is to make some Crispy Almonds and Pecans, almond butter, guacamole, hummus, and boiled eggs. I can do this.
